On Wednesday, me and Danny arranged to meet up with a person from Wigan who had been interested in parkour for around 4 years but had never really done it proper. So through msn n my searching on Google we found him... got his msn and arranged to train with him after school on wednesday.
The day started with me getting a car ride into Wigan off my mum, i then went to the centre of Wigan to meet Joe. We then headed to the Heron nursery to do some drilling of cat leaps, tic tac to cats, some general strength and flow which got us warmed up well for our little training session.
Then Danny arrived with a loud welcome and soon got into training with us. When i say a loud welcome i mean a big LOUD 'MATTTTTTYYYYY WOOP WOOP' getting us all into a good mood and ready to carry on training. The day before Danny had told me and Joe to be ready for a hard session of training and that he was going to put us through our paces so i was ready =D. After doing everything possible at the nursery and Danny once gain improving his awesome climb ups we moved on to the garages.
This place is just outside of Wigan and is a place that very much tests your upper body strength, including this such as cat to cats, cat leaps, kong to cats and tic tac to cats etc. We started off here just drilling a few cat to cats from the garages to the high wall then moved into doing a few tic tac to cats onto the garage and climbing up after everyone. Then after doing this Danny had gone off on his own so he came back to us and showed us were he had just been. He had been on a garage round the corner doing a bit of strength that he then went through with us. This consisted of shimming all the way along 2 garages including a few drop downs etc.
After training here we decided it was time to start warming down so we headed to the civic center to do some small movements and technical stuff, with a bit of foot placement and balance on this small rail, that i later fall off later on onto my bum due to a spinning rail, that was fun. We then decided to head off back to the bus with our muscles acheing and hands bleeding.
Thanks to Danny for our hard training session, and thanks to Joe for coming out to do some training. It's always nice to see a new face and specially when there interested and can have a laugh. Unlucky aboutt he leg cut though, get better soon.
p.s Danny smith has awesome climb ups

Meet up with, Scott, Dan and Jamie.
Yesterday, we met up with Scott, Dan and Jamie.
This was just a day to show them what parkour was about and for them just to get introduced to us.
The day began with me meeting up with Danny around 10:30. As usual Danny was there early and i was there on time. Our first stop was Macdonald's, we don't do this often but we decided as a treat it would be fun to have some pancakes and to discover the syrup's 'sugary goodness' .
We then headed around to heron nursery for a walk, had a mess about here and headed to the civic center. Here we were just waiting for Scott and Danny as it was close to were we was meeting them, near the town center. Whilst we were waiting we had a game on worms, via bluetooth ha ha, and then Danny went to the town center to meet up with them. Whilst Danny was there i was having a proper warm up, jogging, stretching and getting ready for the day ahead.
Then as i was attempting a cat leap, which i know i can do but always have a mental issue with, Danny returned with Scott the other Danny (Dan) and also i person who had seen Parkour on Danny's pants and fancied a go at parkour.
In the day we went to 4 main spots in the Wigan area.
These were
The civic center - This place is an area which is great for learning all your basic vaults, jumps, cat leaps and general balance, so we got to head on getting all the new people vaulting rails after a little warm up. We started off with just the simple vault and built up to the more harder to perform vaults such as the reverse. Here Scott, Dan and Jamie caught on well and were now, Konging, lazying etc. everywere which was good to see. They then had a little go at cat leaps when tom took them to the side to have go at some balancing. After that we moved on to the next spot.
The college - We headed hear straight form the civic for generally a different area to train and to attempt more advanced, bigger moves whilst on the way i was giving them all ideas about parkour and about ways in which people train. As we got there Danny took Scott and Dan off to have a go at the roll whilst Tom took Jamie away with his mate to have a go at a more advanced cat leap. As i stayed with Danny i saw that Scott and Dan had good technique and confidence for the discipline which is always a good sign. We then took them over to some rails to have a go at more general vaults whilst also showing them a bit of flow. Me and Danny then followed Toms root to have a go at the more advanced cat leap which everyone caught onto quickly. Tom at this point was also teaching the roll and basic vaults over a low wall. After this we just had a little mess about at jumping, strength and also quite a high tic-tac which Danny was getting nicely at the end along which Dan and Scott. Jamie then headed off whilst we headed to the shop for a snack and drinks. After this we headed to our next spot.
Heron Nursery - Here is a spot with a small cat leap, some jumps, foot placement and a highish wall for vaults. We didn't really do much here however Scott and Dan soon got the cat leap and foot placements
The Church - This is a spot which has a small disabled access ramp with rails and also some walls which range from high to low and is good for learning all general vaults. Here we finished our snacks and quickly got into training. We started off with some sequences on the rails with things such as vault to underbar. We then had more of a mess about and Scott and Dan had to go to a party (:D lucky)
The weather then started going downhill so we headed to an under cover place and just had a laugh as mates. I played Danny 3 times at worms through out the day and won 2. Overall i won =D.
Danny throughout the day improved a bit and was very good at introducing them to parkour. He also found his kong again and has started to learn the helicopter spin on rails. Overall a good days training.

Wet Day Gym Session
Yesterday, as usual at this time of year it was raining...
However we didn't let this ruin our training and we headed off to a gym just outside of town called 'Ringside gym'.
I arrived there about 4pm with Ben and begun warming up. The warm up started off with a quick 5 minute run on the treadmill, a quick go on the rowing machine and then me and Ben headed into the spare room and set up a little run with some mats.
The run consisted of - A cat leap to a pillar which was circular and about 10 cm wide -
Spin around this pillar and cat to precision - Jump to some plastic things - finishing with a vault to precision.
After a good half an hour of drilling this run, becoming more confident every time we felt warmed up, so we then headed into the machine room to do some muscle work. In here i mostly concentrated on my upper body for now.
After some of these exercises, Ben got a text from Danny to say he was on his way. Danny then arrived about 15 minutes later and began warming up in the spare room. Me and Ben then headed back with him to do some more movement training and then Jack and Tom turned up.
We then drilled our run a few more times then started practicing a kash across the pile of mats. The mats were around 6ft in length, at first this kash was hard for me but as i got more confident i found it easier and began moving it into a kong which i never confidently got but next time im sure i will with practice.
Danny however was finding it hard to kash these mats and doesn't have the best of confidence. However aftera bit of mental support he was attempting it which is a start to everything and he was nearly getting it. Seriously his legs were touching the mat on the last minute so he just needs that bit of a push and he would do it.
Also Danny learned a Dash vault which improved his confidence and it is one of the best dash vaults ive ever seen form a new learner. The technique was perfect as he passed over the mats length ways.
Overall the gym session ment alot of work and improvement and were all acheing. Well done to Danny whos confidence is improving steadily. Keep training mate you inspire me ;-)
